Verizon Launches New $30 unlimited data plan for iPhone

Verizon will offer a $30 dollar unlimited data plan for the Apple iPhone -- but just for now.

When the much-anticipated phone launches in February, customers will have the option of purchasing an unlimited data plan, according to the Wall Street Journal

"I'm not going to shoot myself in the foot," COO Lowell McAdam told the Journal. "Not offering an unlimited plan would put up a barrier for customers who might otherwise switch from AT&T."

But the deal will only last for a short time--McAdam went on to say that Verizon would switch to a tiered system, much like the one AT&T has in place, eventually. But the company will also rid themselves of the $15 dollar for 150 MB pay model for mid-range smartphone data usage, ushering those users up into the $30 tier, according to Engadget.

Anticipation of the iPhone has held back subscriber growth as eager Apple-ites wait for their shot at the Verizon version of Apple's smartphone. There are also questions surrounding the Verizon network's ability to withstand the data burden the iPhone could bring--AT&T has said Verizon iPhone users should be "ready for life in the slow lane."

World of Tanks Development Team is happy to announce the official open beta launch date for World of Tanks that is scheduled for January 27th, 2011.

Over the past six months more than 260000 players took part in the closed beta fighting around 2 million battles and destroying 40 million vehicles with peak concurrent users number surpassing 20000 people. All the data and feedback received from beta-testers helped the developers detect and address important technical and gameplay issues inspiring the team to add new features and making the game one step closer to the final release.

During the open beta players will have a chance to test unique game modes and explore new maps and vehicles.

Selling Customize Figures online in Japan, they will lock you up!

Earlier this week, Niigata Prefecture arrested Keiichi Itoh, 35, and Jun Fujita, 36 for apparently selling a customized Kamen Rider W figure (pictured) via Yahoo! Auctions last November.

The winning bid was around ¥270,000 (US$3,288), a tidy sum indeed.

The two were picked up for violating Japanese copyright law. The suspects told authorities that since the figure was one-off and custom-made, they thought it would be overlooked. This is what the figure looks like before it was revamped by the two men. And before the two men were arrested.

Portal 2

PORTAL 2. Valve’s just confirmed that Portal 2 will feature cross-platform play between PS3 and both PC and Mac owners of the game when it releases in April. 
Working together with Sony we have identified a set of features we believe are very compelling to gamers. We hope to expand upon the foundation being laid in Portal 2 with more Steam features and functionality in DLC and future content releases. Valve’s also confirmed it’ll include a “Steam Play” of the game with every copy of the PS3 version, which means a Steam key for the PC and Mac version will be included.Features also confirmed a “persistent cloud-based storage of PS3 saved games” as well as cross-platform chat on PS3, PC and Mac.

“We made a promise to gamers at E3 that Portal 2 for the PlayStation 3 would be the best console version of the product,” said Valve boss Gabe Newell.

Portal 2 is an upcoming first-person action/puzzle video game, developed by Valve Corporation. It is the sequel to the critically acclaimed 2007 video game Portal and was announced on March 5, 2010, following a week long alternate reality game based on new patches to the original game. Though initially slated for release in the last quarter of 2010, the game was postponed to the week of April 18, 2011. The game will be released by Valve, through both retail and Steam, for Microsoft Windows and Mac OS X; PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions of the game will be distributed by Electronic Arts. All versions of the game will become available simultaneously.
